929 Series  watercolour on paper, 40x40cm each

 

929.org.il is an online program for learning the whole of Tanach (the Hebrew Bible) 1 chapter daily, 5 days a week. To date there are hundreds of groups studying the material together weekly, and some 200,000 people online learning it every day, in the original Hebrew, or in English translation.

I decided to start a series of illustrations on each chapter, so far for Genesis and Exodus. I used watercolour paper 40x40cm, and on these sheets I created drawings, collages and watercolours. I studied each chapter in turn, and chose an idea or image within that chapter, often focussing on a small detail- not necessarily the best known or the most dramatic - for my subject.
